Senior Legal Cashier

Reed Accountancy are delighted to be partnering with an established and well-respected legal practice to recruit an experienced Head Legal Cashier. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Legal Cashier looking to take ownership of a firm''s finance function and play a key role in supporting the ongoing success of the business. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will oversee all day-to-day financial operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across the firm''s accounts function. Whilst payroll and statutory accounts are managed by external providers, you will remain the central point of contact for all internal finance activities. Key Responsibilities Managing client and office accounts in line with Solicitors Accounts Rules. Processing client receipts, payments, transfers and bank reconciliations. Overseeing sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control activities. Preparing electronic payments, including BACS and CHAPS transactions. Managing cash flow and monitoring the firm''s financial position. Producing financial reports and management information for senior stakeholders. Liaising with external accountants regarding month-end, year-end and VAT requirements. Acting as the main point of contact for the outsourced payroll provider. Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting regulatory compliance. Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and efficiencies.
