As a Layout Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the development and coordination of facility and system layouts on large-scale nuclear infrastructure projects. You will play a critical role in ensuring that equipment, systems, and structures are optimally arranged to meet safety, operational, and regulatory requirements throughout the lifecycle of the project.Key Responsibilities
Develop and update general arrangement drawings and 3D models for facility and system layoutsIntegrate mechanical, electrical, and civil/structural inputs into a cohesive plant layoutConduct layout reviews and clash detection to ensure design integrityValidate compliance with safety, operational, and maintenance requirementsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and client stakeholdersManage interface coordination and resolve spatial or design conflicts across systemsWho You Are
Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or related disciplineExperience in layout engineering for nuclear or industrial facilitiesProficient in 3D CAD tools (e.g., PDMS, E3D, CATIA, or similar)Solid understanding of spatial planning, access/maintenance constraints, and integration principlesFamiliarity with relevant nuclear or industrial regulations and standardsStrong communication and coordination skills, with attention to detailWhy ABMI UK
