This full-time Senior IT, Security & Automation Specialist post in London offers £50,000–£60,000 and combines hybrid working with genuine autonomy. The successful candidate becomes the sole technology lead for a boutique corporate finance practice, owning daily desktop support, staff onboarding, device management and Microsoft 365 administration. Beyond routine assistance, duties span access controls, SharePoint upkeep, security governance within an FCA-regulated setting, database oversight, artificial intelligence tools and workflow scripting. Building small internal applications also falls within scope. Senior IT, Security & Automation Specialist

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000
We’re working with a boutique Corporate Finance firm looking for a hands-on IT, Security & Automation Specialist to take ownership of their technology environment.
This is a genuine one-person technology function with a huge amount of autonomy. You’ll handle everything from onboarding new employees and managing devices to security, AI, databases, automation and building small applications.
It’s a varied role for someone who enjoys figuring things out rather than working within a narrow job description.
What you’ll do
- Own day-to-day IT and desktop support, including onboarding, devices and applications
- Manage Microsoft 365, SharePoint, access and permissions
- Support IT security within an FCA-regulated environment
- Develop and maintain security and AI policies
- Support the implementation and governance of tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude
- Work with databases, SQL and Airtable
- Build small applications, scripts, automations and proof-of-concepts
- Identify opportunities to use AI and technology to improve the business
- Troubleshoot problems and take ownership from start to finish
We’re looking for someone with a broad technical skillset rather than someone who ticks every box.
You'll ideally have experience with:
- Microsoft 365 / SharePoint
- IT infrastructure and desktop support
- Security and access management
- SQL / databases
- Scripting, coding or automation
- AI tools and emerging technology
- Mac environments
This role needs someone who is:
- Curious, hands-on and keen to learn
