We are looking for a Senior IT Engineer and Modernisation Lead to play a key role in modernising our IT infrastructure across multiple manufacturing and packaging sites. This is an opportunity for an experienced IT professional to take technical ownership of infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity and digital transformation projects while helping ensure our technology supports operational efficiency and business growth.

A Day in the Life and the Impact You'll Make

You'll provide senior technical expertise across our IT environment, acting as a key escalation point for complex infrastructure and systems issues. Working closely with our IT & Systems Manager, operational teams and external Managed Service Providers, you'll deliver technology improvements that make our systems more secure, reliable, scalable and effective.

What You'll Do

•  Lead the modernisation and continuous improvement of our hybrid IT infrastructure across multiple locations.
•  Deliver infrastructure, cloud and workplace transformation projects to improve efficiency, resilience and user experience.
•  Administer and optimise Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint and Active Directory environments.
•  Strengthen cybersecurity through effective security controls, vulnerability management and endpoint protection.
•  Develop reporting, analytics and automation solutions using technologies such as Power BI, SQL, Python and PowerShell.
•  Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support, resolving complex issues and minimising operational disruption.
•  Work closely with manufacturing and operational teams to ensure technology supports production and business continuity.
•  Manage relationships with MSPs, software vendors and technology partners, ensuring agreed service levels and technical standards are delivered.
•  Identify opportunities to automate processes, improve system performance and reduce technical debt.
•  Support the development and delivery of technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives.

What You'll Bring

•  Demonstrable 2nd/3rd line IT infrastructure and systems administration experience.
•  Strong Microsoft 365 experience, including Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint and Microsoft Defender.
•  Experience administering Windows Server and Active Directory.
•  Proven experience delivering infrastructure upgrades, migrations and technology improvement projects.
•  Good knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including MFA, endpoint security, identity governance, patch management and vulnerability remediation.
•  Experience developing business intelligence, automation or reporting solutions using SQL, Power BI, Python or PowerShell.
•  Experience supporting multi-site operational environments.
•  Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
•  Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
•  Experience working with third-party MSPs and technology providers.
•  A high level of ownership, accountability and customer focus.

Nice to Have

•  Experience within manufacturing, packaging, FMCG or supply chain environments.
•  Microsoft technical certifications.
•  Cybersecurity certifications or formal security training.
•  Experience supporting ERP, production or manufacturing systems.
•  Knowledge of cloud transformation and digitalisation programmes.
•  Project management or project delivery experience.
