About the Role
Network IT seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for a contract role based in the United Kingdom. This six-month engagement, paying £550–£600 per day inside IR35, operates remotely with one office visit each quarter. Active SC clearance is essential. The successful candidate will build and maintain secure, resilient platform services, championing security best practice throughout design and operation. Proficiency in Linux, Terraform, Docker and AWS is required, alongside scripting with Bash or Python. Responsibilities include driving automation and continuous improvement, protecting confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems, and collaborating within a team of infrastructure specialists. A user, service and risk-focused mindset is expected.

You will need experience with Linux, Terraform, Docker, AWS, Security Principles, Bash, Python
- You will be responsible for delivering and maintaining secure, resilient infrastructure and platform services.
- You will champion security best practices, ensuring that systems are designed, configured, and operated to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organisational data and services.
- Taking a user, service, and risk-focused approach, you will drive continuous improvement and automation to strengthen security, resilience, and operational effectiveness.
- Working as part of a team of infrastructure specialists and engineers, you will build, administer, support, and maintain secure and compliant solutions in line with departmental policies, security standards, and industry best practice.
- A significant proportion of the role will involve working with teams across the organisation to provide expert advice on secure environments, configuration management, identity and access management, infrastructure hardening, vulnerability management, monitoring, and incident response.
- You will help ensure that critical services remain secure, available, and resilient against evolving cyber threats.
