Senior Import Clerk

Our client, a well-established and expanding transport and logistics company based in Felixstowe, is seeking an experienced Senior Import Clerk to join their busy and supportive operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end import process, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently and in line with customer requirements
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, overseas agents, and internal colleagues
• Prepare, check, and process import documentation, ensuring compliance with all customs and regulatory requirements
• Complete customs entries accurately and efficiently
• Liaise with customers and third parties to resolve any shipment queries or issues.
• Ensure all operational procedures are completed within agreed timescales
• Raise and issue customer invoices accurately and promptly
• Provide support and guidance to colleagues where required, helping to maintain high operational standards

Skills & Experience Required:

• A minimum of 3 years'' experience within import freight forwarding or logistics
• Strong knowledge of import procedures and customs regulations
• Proven customs entry experience
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
