Senior HR Business Partner
Eden Brown Synergy are working with a Local Authority in Nottingham who are looking for an experienced Senior HR Business Partner (Schools) for 3-6 months.
The role is full time, to start ASAP and paying -450 Umbrella per day (inside IR35). PAYE options are available.
The role is hybrid and you will be expected to be on site 2-3 days a week.
The Role
- To manage the HR Advisory service for the Local Authority''s Maintained Schools in providing an appropriate support delivery service, holding operational and strategic relationships with Head Teachers, School Business Managers and Chairs of Governors.
- To support the HR Business Lead in developing the strategic view for the Directorate and/or Nottingham Schools Trust/Traded service offer.
Responsibilities:
- Take a lead role in supporting school leaders with designated teams to manage the employee lifecycle as part of the HR Advisory package. Facilitating senior recruitment and induction (chargeable), performance management, succession planning, and exit strategies including redeployment and redundancy.
- Ensure effective delivery of the above service in line with the standard service offer, ensuring activity outside this offer is charged for at the agreed rates and appropriately resourced from across HR & EDI, if applicable.
- Deliver effective service redesign support focussed on the changing needs of the business, fostering self-reliance in people leaders whilst minimising risk to the Council and ensuring compliance with statutory and policy requirements. To keep the HR Business Lead informed of emerging concerns and themes and any implications of redesign activity (e.g. School Governors)
- Provide advice and guidance to people leaders to deal with complex casework (sickness, grievance, disciplinary) that appropriately balances individuals'' needs and circumstances with the delivery of organisational objectives. Ensure legal compliance and the adoption of best practice.
- In conjunction with the Organisational HR Team, lead the management of the council''s (and schools) employee relation issues and projects across a wide range of services. Develop and maintain strong working (formal and informal) Trade Union relationships and work in partnership with other key stakeholders.
Essential experience required:
- Extensive and thorough knowledge of relevant national and local policies, drivers and legislation relevant to the workforce and direct experience in providing technical HR/EDI advice to people leaders
- Experience of successfully leading negotiation/consultation with Trade Union and Employee groups and be able to manage conflict
- A sound understanding of employment law and HR/EDI best practice within a large and complex organisation
- Experience of working with, and advising on, a wide range of differing terms and conditions of employment
- Experience of working with a range of stakeholder/clients across all levels, positively addressing barriers and influencing outcomes
- CIPD qualified or equivalent relevant experience
