PURPOSE OF JOB Senior Housing Environmental Health OfficerTo lead and manage the day-to-day delivery of private sector housing functions in relation tohousing improvement within the borough and ensure a high-quality service is provided tocustomers. Manage a case load and undertake appropriate enforcement action to tackledisrepair and energy deficiencies in residential properties using HHSRS and relevantenforcement powers. To undertake HMOs licencing and enforcement and, manage emptydwellings, drainage and other areas as reasonably required for the role.JOB DESCRIPTIONJOB DESCRIPTION Senior Housing Environmental Health OfficerSenior Housing Environmental Health Officer MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIESUndertake inspections, investigations surveys and assessments of properties,caravan sites and drainage, to ascertain defects and inadequacies in suchareas and to take appropriate action to remedy them.Undertake the enforcement of delegated legislation by the provision ofadvice, mediation, negotiation, information and training, service ofstatutory notices, attending court/tribunals as an expert witness, obtainingwarrants, and arranging for works to be carried out in default and initiatingand undertaking legal proceedings where necessary.Arrange and organise your own workload and supervise those of technicalenforcement officers to ensure targets and deadlines are met and records keptup to date.Study new legislation, new case law and new environmental concerns, and inresponse take appropriate ..... full job details .....
