Homelessness Prevention Team LeaderWe are seeking a dedicated professional to lead and supervise Homelessness Prevention Officers, ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance with statutory obligations.Key Responsibilities
Supervise Homelessness Prevention Officers, overseeing all aspects of staff development and learning.Provide legal and case management advice to ensure consistent, high-quality service.Collaborate with partner agencies to prevent and relieve homelessness effectively.Contribute to the council’s budget reduction efforts through proactive casework management and early intervention.Key Requirements
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of homelessness legislation, the Code of Guidance, case law, and related legislation.Assess applications from individuals approaching as homeless and make appropriate duty decisions under the Housing Act 1996 (as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017).Monitor service performance and ensure compliance with health, safety, equality, and statutory guidelines.Develop and update operational procedures in line with legislation and best practices.Deliver team meetings and training programs to meet team and partner agency needs.Provide expert advice on homelessness legislation to partner agencies and guide legally sensitive decisions.Represent the organization at local and regional forums, including multi-agency meetings like MARAC and MAPPA.Manage complex casework and respond to inquiries from elected officials, partners, and customers.Lead performance management initiatives, ensuring team awareness of organizational and personal targets.Prepare and present reports to senior management and other relevant groups.If you have completed the GM Elevate Leadership Development Programme, please include this information in your application.Our Vision and Values
