Senior Highway Engineer

Our client, an independent highways consultancy supporting local highway authorities, public bodies and developers across London and the South East, is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer for a permanent, full-time position. The role offers the opportunity to lead highway projects from feasibility through to construction, while producing practical, buildable designs and managing trusted client relationships.Key Responsibilities:Prepare feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs for highway, active travel, public realm, bus priority, junction and road safety schemesProduce high-quality models and drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, including general arrangements, levels, kerbing, paving, signs, lining and construction detailsUndertake highway geometric design, swept path analysis, levels and quantities, while coordinating drainage, utilities and other interfacesLead projects from inception through to construction support, managing scope, programme, risk, budgets and changePrepare technical notes, design reports, options assessments, Road Safety Audit responses and technical approval submissionsAct as the day-to-day contact for clients, highway authorities, TfL, developers, contractors and other stakeholdersManage Section 278 and Section 38 technical approval processes where requiredContribute to quality assurance, technical reviews, fee proposals, bids and the ongoing development of the consultancyJob Requirements:Degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline, ..... full job details .....
