Senior Highway Engineer
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Highways Design & Delivery Engineer to support the Principal Engineer in managing the design team and delivering a range of highway and transportation schemes for a London Borough.
In this role you will be central to driving design quality, ensuring compliance with technical standards and contributing to the successful delivery of schemes from concept through design to final approval.

Key Responsibilities
·Support the Principal Engineer in managing and coaching design team members.
·Review and check drawings and designs to ensure compliance with standards and internal processes.
·Provide technical advice to clients and lead discussions on design queries.
·Produce design stage documents, reports, and correspondence.
·Analyse traffic data and propose appropriate interventions.
·Apply strong technical highway design processes, including Utilities (C2/C3), CDM Regulations, and Road Safety Audits.
·Contribute to design reviews and ensure deliverables meet quality and statutory requirements.

Person Specification - About You
·Enthusiastic and confident in leading team members and supporting delivery of design schemes.
·Strong technical knowledge of highway design standards and processes.
·Able to advise, influence, and lead on technical design queries with clients and stakeholders.
·Experience producing reports and documentation across design stages.
·Previous experience working in both Local Authority and consultancy environments is beneficial.
·Local knowledge of the Kingston and Sutton highway network would be advantageous.
·Site experience, including snagging and onsite support, is beneficial.
