GEO Payload Hardware Design Engineer

in the UK with opportunities to work with leading space industrial players. Our UK team delivers capabilities in Geointelligence, Robotics and Space Operations, and Satellite Systems, supporting European-based customers and developing advanced space sensors for exploration missions as well as space-based communication technology.Responsibilities

Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers developing GEO FPGA/ASIC based satellite telecommunication payloadsResponsible throughout the hardware product development lifecycle for the specification, design and testingDetailed circuit design including schematic capture, component selection and electronic simulationEngineering analysis and documentation (Derating, Worst Case, Reliability, Radiation, EMI/EMC Analysis, FMECA, Power Budget)Support hardware/software/system integration, test, validation and qualificationDirect in-house and 3rd party PCB layout design teamsDeliver prototype and product quality manufacturing packagesRequired Skills And Qualifications

10+ years’ experience in a hardware product design role, in the Space or an equivalent High Reliability sectorExpertise of high speed digital design and Serdes interconnectsKnowledge of LEO/GEO communications payloadsDesign of complex, high speed circuits implemented as high density, multi-layer (10+) PCBsExperience of circuit and PCB design and simulation toolsSpecialist knowledge in any of the following areas would be advantageous:High reliability design and analysis (Space, Military, Automotive, etc.)RF design and validationElectronic circuitry radiation effects and mitigation techniquesDC/DC power supply designKnowledge of environmental, thermal, safety and EMI/EMC standardsPractical use of scripting languages Tcl/Python/Perl etc.Benefits
