Senior Geotechnical Engineer Location: Wigan Salary: 40,000 - 50,000An established multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Wigan. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys the design side of geotechnics and is looking to take ownership of technically challenging projects.The Role: This is a design-led position, with a focus on delivering geotechnical solutions across a wide range of infrastructure and development projects. You will be involved from concept through to detailed design, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.Key Responsibilities:Undertaking detailed geotechnical design, including foundations, retaining structures, slopes, and earthworksProducing and reviewing design calculations in line with Eurocodes and UK standardsInterpreting ground investigation data and developing ground modelsPreparing high-quality technical reports and design specificationsSupporting and mentoring junior engineersLiaising with clients, contractors, and internal design teamsProviding technical input during project planning and delivery stagesRequirements:Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related disciplineStrong experience in a geotechnical design role within a consultancy environmentProficiency in design software (e.g. GeoStudio, PLAXIS, or similar)Solid understanding of UK design standards and EurocodesExperience with foundation design, retaining walls, and ..... full job details .....
