A growing environmental consultancy is establishing a new Bristol office and is looking for an experienced Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant to play a key role in building the local team and supporting the delivery of a growing project portfolio.
This is an excellent opportunity for a consultant who wants to take the next step in their career, with the chance to work across a varied range of contaminated land and geoenvironmental projects while helping to develop the new office.
The Role
You will be involved in the delivery of geoenvironmental projects from initial site investigation through to reporting and remediation. The role will combine technical delivery, client liaison and project management, with opportunities to take increasing responsibility for projects and support more junior members of the team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Planning and managing Phase 1 and Phase 2 contaminated land assessments
- Reviewing historical, geological and environmental information
- Designing and supervising ground investigations
- Producing factual and interpretative geoenvironmental reports
- Assessing soil and groundwater contamination data
- Preparing conceptual site models and preliminary risk assessments
- Supporting remediation strategies and validation works
- Liaising with clients, contractors, laboratories and regulators
- Preparing fee proposals and supporting project management
- Mentoring and developing junior consultants
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business
- Supporting the growth and development of the new Bristol office
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Geoscience or a related discipline
- Several years'' experience within geoenvironmental or contaminated land consultancy
- Strong experience delivering Phase 1 and Phase 2 assessments
- Experience of supervising ground investigations and site works
- Good knowledge of UK contaminated land legislation and guidance
- Strong technical report writing skills
- Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
- The ability to manage projects and work to deadlines
- A full UK driving licence
Chartered or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body would be advantageous.
