We’re looking for a Frontend Software Engineer who gets excited about solving complex product problems and pushing web technologies to the limit. At Foxglove, we’re building high-performance, deeply interactive tools for robotics and complex data visualization — far beyond typical frontend framework workflows. If you get excited about streaming massive datasets, pushing browser limits, and crafting workflows that surprise people with what’s actually possible in the frontend, this role might be for you.Responsibilities

Architect and build high-performance, dynamic frontend applications that operate on large or real-time datasetsDesign and optimize complex UI workflows that feel snappy, even under heavy computational loadCollaborate with product and design teams to create polished, intuitive user experiences for engineers and technical usersTackle performance bottlenecks across the stack: from JavaScript execution to data transfer and rendering pipelinesContribute to core build systems, framework architecture, and overall app reliabilityExplore creative solutions for non-traditional browser-based workflows (streaming data, GPU-backed rendering, large-scale interactivity)End-to-end ownership over features, working directly with customers and community to understand requirementsExpand knowledge of the robotics and self-driving industriesWork alongside an experienced team on a cutting edge productWhat We''re Looking For

6+ years experience in frontend or full stack engineering roles focused on complex product applications2+ years experience working in Autonomous Vehicles (AV) or related robotics companiesStrong proficiency in Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript, along with modern frameworks like ReactDeep knowledge of frontend performance optimization, browser internals, and debugging toolsExperience handling large datasets in the frontend—buffering, streaming, or visualizing complex informationFamiliarity with build tools (e.g., Vite, Webpack, esbuild) and optimizing development pipelinesExperience working close to the metal: WebGL, WASM, or web workers is a plusPassion for building technical tools with engineers as the primary usersExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDeliver high-quality work efficiently, often in a third of the time most think is possibleAbility to self motivate and thrive in a fast-paced, small team environmentBonus points

Experience building Electron-based desktop applicationsExperience in 2D or 3D visualizationC++ experienceWhat We Offer
