Location: Swindon
Pay Rate: -14.55 per hour + 40% shift allowance
Contract: 12 Month Temporary Assignment
Hours: Average 42 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP
The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Formulation Technician to join a busy pharmaceutical manufacturing environment in Swindon. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing experience who enjoys working in a highly regulated production setting and is looking to develop their career within the pharmaceutical industry.
This role operates on a 24/7 rotating shift pattern consisting of 12-hour day and night shifts:
- 07:00 - 19:00 (Days)
- 19:00 - 07:00 (Nights)
Shift pattern:
- Week 1: Wednesday & Thursday
- Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday
- The cycle then repeats
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate bulk manufacturing equipment in line with standard operating procedures.
- Prepare, test and set up manufacturing modules, including CIP, SIP, pressure testing, filter integrity testing and autoclaving.
- Operate small and large-scale compounding systems.
- Manufacture pharmaceutical products in accordance with batch manufacturing records.
- Complete all batch documentation accurately and in compliance with GMP requirements.
- Monitor equipment performance and report faults or issues.
- Carry out cleaning and maintenance activities to pharmaceutical industry standards.
- Perform Clean In Place (CIP) and Steam In Place (SIP) activities.
- Operate autoclaves, airlocks and automated cleaning systems.
- Ensure all equipment is sterilised and ready for production use.
- Support validation projects and new product introductions.
- Assist with basic equipment maintenance where required.
- Escalate any non-conformance or quality concerns promptly.
About You
Essential
- GCSE Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent numeracy skills.
- GCSE English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent literacy skills.
- Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Desirable
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, production or pharmaceutical environment.
- Experience working within GMP or regulated industries.
