The Fire Safety Advisor - Capital Projects will be a dedicated resource within the Fire Safety Team with a specific focus to Capital Projects and will therefore play a key role in ensuring that all new builds, refurbishments, and upgrades in the hospital comply with fire safety regulations and standards, including those outlined in the Building Regulations, Building safety Regulations and guidance within HTM 05-01, HTM 05-02, and HTM 05-03. The role will focus on ensuring that both active and passive fire safety systems are implemented and upgraded in line with legal requirements, RIBA stages, and fire safety best practices. The Fire Safety Advisor will be responsible for correlating fire safety control upgrades through a systematic process of costing, prioritisation, and securing approval, ensuring fire safety is embedded in all capital projects across the hospital.Main duties of the job

Training and Qualifications
Qualification in a relevant building or engineering discipline (e.g., HNC/HND in Building Services, Fire Engineering, or similar).NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management or equivalentMembership with a relevant professional body (e.g., Institute of Fire Engineers).Recognised fire safety qualifications as per HTM 05-01 guidance.Experience
Experience in a fire safety role, preferably in a healthcare or similarly complex environmentProven experience in managing or coordinating fire safety schemes / projects.Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations and healthcare-specific guidance such as HTM 05-01, 02 and 03 and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005Experience in liaising with external bodies, such as the Fire and Rescue ServiceCommunication and Relationship Skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectivelyAnalytical and Judgement
