Senior Financial Accountant

NXTGEN is recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant for an established and growing business based in Lowestoft. This Senior Financial Accountant opportunity would be an excellent first move from practice, while also appealing to industry-trained candidates with experience across financial reporting, controls and compliance. Working closely with the Finance Director, you''ll take ownership of the integrity of the organisation''s financial reporting and control environment. Rather than managing a team or running the transactional finance function, your focus will be on reviewing how finance operates, strengthening processes and ensuring the business maintains robust financial disciplines as it continues to develop. The role As the Senior Financial Accountant, you''ll act as a key technical resource within finance, combining detailed accounting work with broader exposure to governance, risk and process improvement. Your responsibilities will include: Reviewing and strengthening financial controls across the business Ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are accurate, complete and supported Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and year-end reporting Acting as a key point of contact during the external audit process Maintaining clear finance policies, procedures and control documentation Reviewing accounting treatments and providing technical guidance Supporting tax, VAT and wider financial compliance activity Identifying weaknesses or inconsistencies within existing ..... full job details .....
