Role Purpose:To act as Senior Finance Business Partner for a portfolio of services within the Council, providing financial advice, guidance and support to Strategic Directors, Directors, Heads of Service and other Managers.To develop strong collaborative relationships between the service teams and the finance team, to strengthen the business partnering support model and ensure Finance is consistently consulted on decisions and wider service performance impacting budgets, promoting financial standards and best practices across the Council to ensure a financially compliant and well-run organisation.To lead and manage the business partnering team for a defined set of Council services providing full financial support for; budget monitoring and forecasting, technical finance advice on specialist areas, budget setting and financial planning, year-end processes. Work with senior managers to develop and evaluate options for maximising short-term and long-term opportunities and cost avoidance, including the implementation and monitoring of action plans, savings initiatives, and other risk mitigation measures impacting the overall Council''s budgets.Identify the training needs of senior managers and their staff in relation to the Financial Management and ensure appropriate training strategies are implemented.Produce finance reports for departmental management meetings, partnership meetings and other key meetings such as Schools Forum.Job Requirements:1, CCAB Qualification2, Prior ..... full job details .....
