My Client is recruiting for a Field Service Engineer and Senior Field Service Engineer in the Water Sector.
Location: Leeds and surrounding areas
Salary: -39-50K depending on experience
Providing invaluable expertise, knowledge, and skills as a highly competent and experienced Field Service Engineer (FSE). This role will serve as a key point of guidance for other engineers, both on-site and within Company HUBs, while consistently demonstrating role model behaviour which reflects the Company core values. The role is responsible for leading a large team on complex projects, showcasing proficiency across multiple engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in both on site and in-house solution development
- Safe and efficient delivery of the solutions to complete all projects on time and to budget.
- Delegate the daily workloads of operational teams and individual team members both on site and whilst in the Company HUBs.
- Act as a bridge/voice between that of the operational work force and the senior management team by effectively and accurately communicating company/workforce information, goals and needs.
- Liaise closely with Project Managers to aid in job package costings when necessary eg: specific material/equipment/plant/labour/manufacturing prices required to complete a project.
- Use of ICT skills to keep digital contract/project files updated making sure that all relevant information is stored correctly and in a timely manner.
- Liaise closely with Project Managers and senior management accurately delivering all projects/work, effectively communicating/processing/documenting all relevant information.
- Conduct toolbox talks, discuss potential hazards, near misses, dangerous occurrences in order to improve safety within the teams and wider company.
- Ensure the highest standards of work are met daily throughout the operational teams.
- Conduct initial site visits, collecting and documenting all valid information regarding a given enquiry/contract. The information gathered should then result in accurate project estimating and technical discussion with the Project Managers and Senior Management team.
- Actively contribute to meetings/discussions around training, personnel, development, promotions, safety concerns, commercial concerns/opportunities.
- Provide a point of escalation on-site for all positive outcomes, problems and/or decisions. Escalate these back to the Project Managers/senior management when/where necessary.
- Help plan team selections for specific projects/tasks ensuring the right skillsets are distributed amongst the team to achieve the desired successful outcomes.
- Analyse and solve engineering problems and carry out engineering work to ensure projects are safely and successfully delivered.
- On site record keeping and site management, point of contact for clients on site, in charge of making sure all relevant documentation is accounted for e.g.: site inductions, correct site cards/training/qualifications, permit/handover documentation, confined space record keeping, tool-box talk/think plan''s.
- Ensure all company policies are adhered to e.g. Use of PPE, vehicles, staff behaviour both on site and whilst working away.
- Required to compile reports, technical drawings and detailed information collection of site observations and further working requirements. This list is not exhaustive, and you may be required to perform other duties outside of the above, but that are deemed necessary to fulfil the requirements of your role.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Technical capabilities, knowledge and experience within the Utilities Industry (that can or has been demonstrated/documented/proven)
- Ideally experience working the Water Sector on Pumping Stations and/or Wastewater Treatment Works
- Engineering qualifications Degree/HNC/HND or similar ideally in Mechanical or similar Engineering field
- Required to be very self-motivated, strong team leadership as well as interpersonal skills
- Promoting, developing, and ensuring best health and safety practices across all aspects of the company''s operations
- Act as an ambassador for the company, supporting and promoting the company goals, vision, strategy and values
- Work as an integral operational team member to support and achieve company goals, promoting the highest standards of behaviour, attitude and leadership to the role, working environment and company
- Commit to own professional development, enhancing and improving skills and knowledge to the benefit of all
- Using ones knowledge, experience, and skillset to enhance, teach and develop all other operational staff within the business in order to help future proof the company
- A Full Driving Licence is required for this role
- Strong proven background and experience in multiple areas of the following
- Mechanical engineering
- Ideally Rope access / confined space rescue
- Pipe repairs (internal, external)
- Fabrication/manufacture
- Design understanding
- Site management would be beneficial
