Responsibilities
Responsibility for all allocated projects from conception to completion including pre-budget breakdowns and approvals, logistics, project management, website creation and invitation management, event liaison, post-event analysis and accounting.
Manage budgets to ensure costs are negotiated and consolidated on each allocated project to ensure best value for the bank. Manage pre-event approval and post-event recharging in a timely manner.
Ensure timely and effective delivery of events within agreed budgets.
Content and Thought Leadership: support the business in delivery of conference content on macro and geo-political themes. Ensure well-balanced, high quality programs are delivered to engage and be impactful to clients.
Follow BNP Paribas policies and procedures whilst implementing projects.
Manage multiple flagship projects simultaneously and prioritise between various tasks depending on deadlines.
Management of all branding at events to ensure it is within guideline.
Manage relationship and strategy for specific area of event or project (e.g. Hedge Fund Summit / HYLF / Financial Institution Forums / Sponsorship Events / IMF).
Lead or senior coordination role in flagship events (e.g. Global Markets Conference / HYLF / IMF).
Maintain and review efficiencies of critical events tools such as CRM Lite, Eventogy Event Management System, post-event analysis reports, suppliers directory, and health and safety database.
Coordinate with other BNP Paribas events professionals and collaborate with Strategic Marketing for content at events.
Contribute to internal communication initiatives and participate in recruitment, training and team motivation activities.
Build strong working relationships with internal clients, key supplier contacts, and other events teams across BPSS, Coverage, CIB and other metiers.
Raise the profile of the events team within the business line and across the bank; promote cross business line / metiers / regional collaboration on events.
Mentoring and upskilling junior and experienced event managers (e.g. ROI analytics); run project teams on large events; deliver ad hoc training and share best practices with other teams.
Experience, Qualifications and Competencies
Essential: Extensive knowledge of events management best practice and tools
Essential: Extensive and comprehensive experience in event management in the banking and/or investment sector, preferably in a leading financial institution
Essential: Demonstrated ability to lead project teams
Strong event management skills
Knowledge of the businesses and the key stakeholders
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines
Ability to manage expectations of hosts and the business
Exceptional time management skills
Attention to detail - methodical approach to work
Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken)
High level of numeracy; provide detailed ROI analytics throughout the event lifecycle
Public speaking and presentation skills
Deep understanding of brand development and promotion
Deep understanding of the role of event management in the broader communications context
Advanced skills in Excel, Word and intermediate skills in PowerPoint
Languages preferred but not essential
