Cavendish is delivering critical upgrades to the Royal Navy’s infrastructure at HMNB Clyde as part of the Nuclear Technical Support Provider (NTSP) framework. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact projects within a collaborative alliance, shaping the future of national defence capabilities.Responsibilities
Lead high-impact engineering programmes that shape the UK’s nuclear infrastructure, delivering success at every scale.Plan and manage multi-disciplinary projects, coordinating and integrating multi-discipline tasks.Lead the engineering team to deliver technical solutions to budget, targets, and the scope for Projects from concept design to full Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC).Lead and manage multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure timely, efficient delivery aligned with customer scope and expectations.Foster cross-functional collaboration across engineering and other departments to drive cohesive project execution and innovation.Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring clear communication, issue resolution, and alignment on technical and delivery progress.Oversee technical quality and compliance, ensuring engineering outputs meet agreed technical standards and safety, ethical, and environmental requirements.Develop team capability and performance through resource planning, mentoring, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and engineering best practice.Essential experience
An extensive record of managing engineering activities across all phases of EPC projects—from concept and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) through detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop diverse engineering teams across multiple disciplines, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and project delivery.Experience managing complex engineering projects from concept to delivery, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication.Strong track record of building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, to ensure satisfaction and alignment on technical and business objectives.Deep understanding of engineering principles with the ability to review, challenge, and guide technical decisions, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.Qualifications
Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant engineering discipline with significant demonstrable experience.Security clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
