Social network you want to login/join with:The Senior Engineer, who plays a key role in overseeing civil engineering projects with an annual turnover of £10 million.This individual is responsible for the technical management and execution of the project while leading a team of 2 to 4 section engineers, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities and Objectives:1 Safety, Health, Environment and SustainabilityPrepare, check / approve method statements and risk assessments ensuring that appropriate priority is given to the public and that third party approvals are obtained where necessary.Assist with the preparation of project environmental procedures and ensure that systems are implemented to satisfy contractual and statutory requirements, liaising with third parties, such as the Environmental Agency,2 Dimensional/Spatial ControlReviews how achievable, suitable and compatible the specified tolerances are and gets amended as requiredReviews and changes proposed construction methods to ensure compliance with specified or stated tolerancesDetermines and implements the most appropriate methods for primary and secondary control on the projectSupervises, provides training and ensures competence of those carrying out dimensional control tasksProvides advice and assistance in resolution of survey and dimensional control issues3 Workmanship, Quality, Inspection and TestingReviews ITPs to ensure they correctly interpret the specified quality requirements and improves as necessaryEnsures that sub-contractors quality procedures comply with company / contract quality requirements and carries out audits as necessaryDetermines remedial actions for non-conformances and ensures that these are approved and implementedEnsure that NCR are satisfactorily closed out and that appropriate controls are applied to prevent reoccurrenceProduces construction / installation details which improve build-ability compatibility and minimise risk of later construction issuesManages the production of quality assurance information for inclusion in the construction recordsTakes responsibility for ensuring that company and project quality requirements procedures are implemented4 Information, Change Control and RecordsRecords change requests from the client including any abortive work as a result of the requestEnsures information provided to the facility accounts for any changeAssists project engineer with this as per their job roleAssists project engineer with this as per their job role6 Construction Methods, Practices and InnovationEvaluates alternative solutions and proposed innovations to determine if they are more effective than current methodsDrives priority for improvement to software being developed for the facilityInitiates 3D modelling to develop methods, clarify issues and resolve method related problemsIn respect to methods, carries out value engineering; understands the financial and client implications of de-scoping and constantly strives to add value to our projectsIs instrumental in finding alternative solutions to existing methods and practices to improve productivity, quality or safety helping to create best practiceProduces method statements for complex and high-risk operations such as those affecting the publicApproves method statements and risk assessments, evaluating them and suggesting improvementsDevelops site practice such that method statements are always followed7 Temporary Works/Systems and CranesProduces design briefs for the temporary works in their areaCarries out the role of Temporary Works Inspector (TWI) for complex temporary works ensuring compliance with company proceduresCarries out the role of Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) for projects involving standard temporary works is Deputy TWC for complex projects ensuring compliance with company proceduresApplies a standard rule set of temporary works designs to a range of product8 Design Process, Coordination and ManagementAttend early-stage model detailing reviews and confirm compliance with the facility capabilityProvides guidance to detailers on how to best align the cages with facility requirementsInputs into cage triage and sequencingLeads a team of Digital EngineersProvides forecasts of work for external partiesManages external teams drafting engineering drawingsReviews and approves drawings taking into consideration buildability, temporary works and facility requirementsDocument control through Common Data EnvironmentsReports status of design on a regular basisAssists project engineer with this as per their job role9 Engineering Knowledge – Capture, Sharing and UsingProvide value engineering in determining the best solutions to engineering problems.Be aware of the lifting, handling, storage and transport requirement of the product and ensure these are captured in the temporary works design and communicated on drawingsHave an understanding of the capabilities and constraints of all manufacturing plants and equipment for the manufacture of reinforcement cagesCapturing facility knowledge and capability enabling continuous improvement, innovation and improved capability
