As a Senior Engineer Projects and Programmes in Flood and Climate Resilience Management, you will bring:Knowledge and experience of flood risk and drainage design and delivering flood risk schemesExperience in delivering Natural Flood Management, Blue Green infrastructure and Property Flood Resilience would be of particular interestAbility to communicate key issues clearly in writing and verbally, and the ability to resolve conflictAbility to monitor and coach more junior staffAbility to manage competing priorities while delivering on multiple schemes and adapting to changing circumstancesAbout The Role

As a Senior Engineer in Projects and Programmes, Flood Risk Management, you’ll thrive on the diverse and challenging workload of flooding now and in the future with climate change impacts.It’s not just about traditional flood alleviation schemes; it is about seeking innovative and sustainable solutions as part of development proposals to mimic natural processes and reduce flood risk.Projects may include embankments, new reservoirs, Natural Flood Management (NFM) schemes and blue/green infrastructure, as we seek integrated water management catchment solutions. This is an exciting time to develop schemes for the national capital programme announced by the government, commencing in April 2026.You will be involved in:Project management of a wide variety of flood alleviation schemes (traditional hard engineering, natural flood management, blue-green infrastructure, property flood resilience)Developing schemes from feasibility studies through business case stages to construction and evaluationEngagement with councillors and the public, conveying technical information to a non-technical audienceWorking with partners such as the Environment Agency and Yorkshire Water to collaborate on schemes and bids for fundingProviding technical support and mentoring to other team members within projects and programmes and across the wider FRM teamWhat We Offer You
