Kitson Associates are working with a well-established housebuilder based in Leicestershire to recruit an experienced-Senior Engineer.-

You''ll take ownership of the engineering design on several residential developments, from land acquisition right through to adoption, working closely with the land, technical and construction teams.-

Key responsibilities

• Carry out engineering appraisals and due diligence on potential land opportunities, including abnormal cost assessments
• Produce and manage engineering designs and layouts, including drainage, highways, levels and earthworks strategies
• Appoint, brief and manage external consultants, making sure designs are delivered on time and to budget
• Prepare and negotiate Section 38, Section 104 and Section 278 agreements with local authorities and water companies
• Manage utility applications, diversions and new connections
• Work closely with the land, planning, technical and commercial teams to support planning applications and discharge of conditions
• Provide technical support to site teams during construction and resolve engineering issues as they come up
• Take developments through to adoption and bond release
• Keep up to date with building regulations, NHBC standards and industry best practice
• Support and mentor junior members of the technical team

What you''ll need

• Currently working for a housebuilder or developer (essential)
• A minimum of around 3 years'' engineering experience in residential development
• A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Sound knowledge of Section 38, 104 and 278 agreements and the adoption process
• Experience of drainage design, highways and external works
• Confident managing consultants, contractors and local authority relationships
• Good commercial awareness and an understanding of build costs and abnormals
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage several sites at once
• Proficient in AutoCAD or similar design software (desirable)
• Full UK driving licence
