Senior Engineer - Highways and Transport

Our client is seeking a Senior Engineer specialising in Highways and Transport to join its growing in-house design team on a permanent basis. The role will help shape streets and communities by managing highway and transport schemes from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design, procurement, construction and handover. This is an opportunity to deliver meaningful highways projects, working closely with client, commissioning, permitting, inspection and delivery teams. The role offers technical variety, professional development and the chance to make a direct difference to everyday journeys and local communities.Key Responsibilities:Manage the design and delivery of highways and transport projects within agreed time, cost, quality and legislative requirementsUndertake highway engineering design, traffic analysis, technical option development and scheme feasibility assessmentsApply UK highway and traffic design standards, including TSRGD, TSM, MfS2 and DMRBCoordinate and supervise consultants, contractors, subcontractors and term maintenance contractors, including KPI monitoringLead projects through feasibility, concept, outline design, detailed design, construction and handover stagesManage scheme budgets, financial records, contractor accounts, risks, programmes and quality standardsArrange surveys, site inspections, road safety audits and statutory undertaker utility diversionsProvide technical advice, reports, briefings and communications to colleagues, ..... full job details .....
