Writing technical specifications and supporting in the down selection and placing of contractsLiaising and collaborating with external suppliers and the customerFollowing design lifecycle management to ensure the delivery of equipment to specificationProviding technical consultation to multi-discipline teams, suppliers and stakeholders on matters related to the power systemPreparing technical reports, calculations, and presentations to communicate results and recommendations effectivelyYour skills and experiences
EssentialBachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or related fieldProven experience as a power systems engineerExperience with high power, medium voltage power electronics, machines, and drivesKnowledge of power systems, including conversion, distributions, and generationWorking within a relevant engineering role to industry codes and standardsComplex design programmes experienceExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsBenefits

The Electrical Equipment team: As part of the Electrical Equipment Team, you will be involved in the specification and tendering of equipment within the Electrical Power System and subsequently will manage the technical side of the contract through staged design reviews through to design completion, working closely with external suppliers to meet the standards of engineering excellence required to provide the Royal Navy with the next generation submarines.
