Project Engineer – Civil Engineering

Carmichael UK is recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer to join an established civil engineering contractor delivering major earthworks on a major highway project in Grays, East London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer looking to develop their career within a busy project environment, working alongside an experienced team and playing a key role in the successful delivery of the works.

As Project Engineer, you will provide engineering and technical support to the project team, helping ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality, specification and programme.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing engineering support to the project and site teams
• Setting out and surveying as required
• Reviewing construction drawings, specifications and technical information
• Monitoring works against design and specification
• Assisting with the management and resolution of technical queries
• Working closely with subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
• Maintaining accurate engineering records and documentation
• Supporting quality assurance and quality control processes
• Monitoring progress and assisting with project reporting
• Liaising with designers, engineers and other project stakeholders
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements

We're looking for a motivated Project Engineer with experience within civil engineering, earthworks or infrastructure.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Project Engineer or similar engineering role
• HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience working on civil engineering or earthworks projects
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
• Experience with setting out and surveying
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A proactive approach to problem solving
• Relevant CSCS/site certification
• Full UK driving licence

• £42,000 – £47,000 salary, depending on experience
