Senior Electronics Engineer

Bristol | Permanent | Full-Time

Are you an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, improving existing products and working hands-on across electronics?

We''re working with an established technology business developing high-performance engineering products, and they''re looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to take ownership of the electrical and electronic aspects of their existing product portfolio.

This is a hands-on, technically focused role centred around troubleshooting, sustaining engineering, reliability improvements and problem solving, alongside supporting ongoing product development.



The Role

You''ll be the technical point of contact for electrical and electronic issues across the business, working closely with engineering, manufacturing and operations to identify problems, implement improvements and maintain product performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Investigating and resolving electrical and electronic faults.
  • Supporting and improving existing electronic assemblies and products.
  • Carrying out root cause analysis, troubleshooting and failure investigation.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve reliability, performance and efficiency.
  • Supporting component replacement and obsolescence management.
  • Testing, modifying and redesigning existing circuits where required.
  • Developing improvements and modifications to existing designs.
  • Designing and maintaining test fixtures and test methods.
  • Working closely with manufacturing and supply chain to resolve technical issues.
  • Researching alternative components and technologies.
  • Providing technical support and mentoring to other engineers.
  • Producing technical documentation and communicating solutions to stakeholders.
  • Supporting new designs where required.
  • Occasional international travel.


About You

You''ll ideally have:

  • A degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Around 10 years'' experience in a similar electronics engineering role.
  • Strong experience with schematic design and PCB layout.
  • Experience with both analogue and digital electronics.
  • Excellent fault-finding, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
