Senior Electronics Engineer

A Senior Electronics Engineer is sought to join an innovative engineering team in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire, contributing to the design, development and support of specialist military VLF/LF communications products.

The Senior Electronics Engineer, Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire, will be expected to work across almost all aspects of product development and installed product support, from design and specification through to assembly, testing and customer support.

Responsibilities include:

• Design and modify RF products for VLF/LF communications systems
• Manage customer projects from design through to production and shipment
• Manage sub-suppliers including purchasing, inspection and specification requirements
• Carry out fault diagnosis of circuits, electronic assemblies and field returns
• Liaise with customers and internal teams on technical support, development and factory acceptance testing
• Produce technical, project and programme reports as required
• Support engineering changes, technical training, testing and calibration activities

The Senior Electronics Engineer, Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire, will have the following key skills:

• Strong electronic and electrical design experience down to component level, with analogue and low-noise circuit design
• PCB layout, assembly and electrical testing experience, including component and trace-level fault finding
• Experience working with mechanical drawings, ECR/ECN systems and sub-suppliers
• Understanding of electronics obsolescence and mitigation strategies within long-life products
• Experience within an ISO 9001 design/manufacturing environment, ideally with Defence or military products
