We are seeking someone who is comfortable working face to face with our clients and has a good understanding of electrical safety testing to IEC62368 standards.Required skills and experience:Good IT Skills, experience with excel, word and data retention systems.Experience of working in accordance with a Quality Management SystemAbility to communicate effectively with customers and other members of the team.Experience and knowledge in one or more electrical safety standards e.g., IEC/EN 62368/61558/UL62368Background in product safety testingExperience in safety critical function design/development of electrical productsUnderstanding of different certification schemes and processesExperience of generating test reports for customers and certification purposes.Ability to fault find down to component levelExperience working in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratoryABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYThe role’s key purpose is to complete electrical safety evaluations for Intertek’s global client base. Working within the Intertek Electrical UK team, the test engineer would work closely with clients to evaluate their products and documentation to ensure they meet specific requirements of the applicable test standards. The role will also involve working across all departments within UK Electrical, providing technical support to operations, sales, and marketing.Key activities:Complete electrical safety evaluations for Intertek’s clientsManage assigned projects within Intertek guidelinesAssess technical documentation and processes against standard requirementsProvide project updates to customers, as well as managementComplete and review Intertek’s evaluation test reportsEnsure evaluations are completed to standard and within set timescales.Provide technical support to the businessAttend customer calls and meetingsEnsure evaluations are conducted in conjunction within Intertek’s quality system and accreditation requirementsWHAT WE OFFERJoin Intertek and become part of our global network of inspiring and entrepreneurial colleagues.
