Opportunity Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a Building Services (MEP) team based in Nottingham. This Senior Electrical Engineer role sits within a multidisciplinary consultancy delivering engineering, environmental and infrastructure solutions across the UK and internationally.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will support the delivery of electrical building services across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education and infrastructure projects.

Role Overview – Senior Electrical Engineer
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, coordination and delivery of electrical building services systems across multiple project stages.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will work within a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with mechanical engineers, BIM technicians and other disciplines to deliver coordinated design solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design and delivery of electrical building services systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms and data systems
- Producing calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation
- Coordinating electrical design with mechanical, public health, structural and architectural teams
- Supporting project delivery from concept through to detailed design and construction
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations including BS 7671
- Working within a BIM environment using Autodesk Revit in collaboration with technicians
- Attending client and design team meetings representing the electrical discipline
- Contributing to sustainable and low-carbon design approaches
- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and technicians
- Assisting with project planning, resource management and delivery to programme and budget

Skills and Experience Required – Senior Electrical Engineer
To be considered for this Senior Electrical Engineer position, you should have:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Proven experience in electrical design within a Building Services (MEP) consultancy environment
- Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and standards including BS 7671
- Experience working across multiple project stages
- Ability to deliver projects independently and within a team environment
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams

Desirable Skills
- Working towards or achieved Chartered Engineer status (CIBSE or IET)
- Experience using BIM and Autodesk Revit
- Knowledge of sustainable design and low-carbon technologies
- Experience within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment
