Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join an established onshore oil and gas facility. This role will lead the electrical discipline in scoping and delivering CAPEX and OPEX modifications, while ensuring technical integrity, compliance, and operational excellence. The position also serves as back-up to the Senior Site Electrical Support Engineer, providing technical guidance and oversight for electrical engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead electrical engineering elements of CAPEX and OPEX projects as per annual plans.
Provide electrical engineering support to projects led by other disciplines.
Perform standard electrical calculations, checks, and reviews.
Participate in HAZOP and LOPA studies.
Ensure compliance with internal engineering standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct peer reviews and provide electrical input for Management of Change (MOC) risk assessments.
Lead or support incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Mentor and manage graduate engineers as part of a structured development programme.
Support ISO14001 and ISO45001 audit compliance activities.
Act as electrical discipline lead in the absence of the Senior Site Electrical Support Engineer.
Approve updates to electrical engineering drawings and operational risk assessments.
Manage high-value critical spares and support maintenance/reliability strategy improvements.
Contribute to ATEX compliance management and regulatory discussions.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) status.
Extensive experience in project execution, modification works, and plant operations.
Strong understanding of HV networks, including fault levels and load flow analysis.
Proven knowledge of electrical discipline industry standards.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence priorities and provide technical direction.
