Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Our client, a leading consultancy in the water sector, is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic and growing team operating across the UK.

• Develop project plans by liaising with clients and interpreting their data and requirements
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are met
• Produce technical outputs including specifications, schedules, and reports
• Design and size pumping and aeration systems
• Generate engineering inputs and design outputs such as general arrangement drawings, 3D models, 2D plans, and P&IDs
• Conduct technical presentations to clients and peers, and participate in collaborative design discussions
• Assess existing site infrastructure and develop mechanical designs for the water and wastewater treatment industry
• Prepare design risk assessments and ensure compliance with the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) Regulations

• Good understanding of electrical design principles and significant experience in the water industry
• Proficient in pump selection, design of pumping systems, and the use of P&IDs
• Experience in producing specifications, reports, and technical documentation
• Knowledge of contract procurement and engagement methods, ideally including NEC forms of contract
• Ability to manage work to time, cost, and quality criteria
• Comfortable supporting junior staff in their technical and personal development
• Willingness to travel to operational and construction sites, act safely, and conduct surveys, inspections, and testing
• Knowledge of design tools and software such as AutoCAD is advantageous

• Degree in electrical engineering or a closely allied subject, ideally IET-accredited. Postgraduate qualifications are advantageous
• Chartered engineer status or working towards and nearing chartership
