Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Apex MandE Solutions is recruiting a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for an established building services contractor strengthening its in-house technical capability. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who can independently develop practical, compliant electrical designs and support the teams delivering them on site. Why this opportunity You will work across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial and retail environments, with involvement from the initial survey and client brief through construction, commissioning and handover. The role brings design decisions close to procurement and installation, giving you the opportunity to solve coordination issues early and see how your designs perform in practice. What you will do Develop electrical designs from concept through detailed design, construction support and as-installed stages. Survey existing infrastructure and produce calculations, specifications, schedules, schematics and single-line diagrams. Design LV distribution, cabling, containment, earthing and bonding, including voltage-drop, fault-current and protection coordination calculations. Design general and emergency lighting and coordinate power supplies, controls and BMS interfaces for mechanical plant.
