Senior Electrical Design Engineer

An established engineering company in the water sector is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its Electrical Engineering team. This is a permanent role based in Birmingham with a fixed hybrid schedule. Role Purpose: Design, specify, and requisition electrical equipment in accordance with industry, client, and company standards for water and wastewater projects.Key Responsibilities: Develop electrical designs in line with British Standards, client specifications, and company standards.Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and requisitions for equipment, materials, and services.Monitor and coordinate sub-contractors for control systems, panels, and specialist electrical equipment.Conduct inspections, ex-works testing, and, if required, site commissioning and testing.Supervise CAD operators and junior electrical engineers where required.Ensure compliance with company procedures and quality assurance systems. Requirements: Proven experience in electrical engineering within water/wastewater projects.Strong technical knowledge of LV systems, MCCs, control panels, and related electrical equipment.Experience preparing specifications, technical documentation, and coordinating sub-contractors.Contractor or design and build project experience desirable.
