Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Decarbonisation and Energy Solutions)Location: Manchester (Hybrid)Salary: Competitive + Excellent BenefitsThe OpportunityAdvance TRS is partnering with a leading engineering and facilities management organisation to recruit a Senior Electrical Design Engineer specialising in decarbonisation and energy solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering sustainable retrofit and low-carbon building projects across the public and commercial sectors. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will lead the electrical design of projects from concept through to delivery, providing technical expertise across solar PV, battery storage, LV power distribution, lighting, and energy-efficient building systems.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the electrical design and coordination of decarbonisation and sustainable retrofit projects. Produce detailed electrical designs from RIBA Stages 2-5, including calculations, single-line diagrams, schematics, specifications and technical reports. Design LV electrical infrastructure incorporating: Solar PV (roof-mounted, ground-mounted and BIPV) Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) LED lighting Smart controls Heat pump integration Manage DNO applications from feasibility through to approval. Coordinate designs with mechanical, energy and BIM teams. Review, check and approve electrical designs to BS7671 and UK Building Regulations.
