Senior ECandI Engineer

Our long-standing client is looking to appoint a Senior ECandI Design Engineer to support the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical control systems within highly regulated engineering environmentsThis is a hands-on technical role covering the manufacturing of fabricated and sheetmetal components across sectors such as nuclear, defence, transport, and high-hazard facilities.You will act as a focal point for ECandI design, working closely with Mechanical Engineers, project teams, and external stakeholders to deliver compliant, high-quality solutions.Key Responsibilities:Design and EngineeringDesign ECandI control systems (schematics, panel layouts, cable schedules)Produce technical drawings, documentation, and calculationsSupport Functional Design Specifications (FDS)Ensure designs meet required PL/SIL ratingsSystems and TechnicalWork with motors, gearboxes, sensors, safety devices, VSDs, PLCs, and safety systemsUse SISTEMA to validate safety-related control systems (SRP/CS)Support fault finding and on-site troubleshooting when requiredCompliance and StandardsEnsure compliance with Machinery Directive and UK Safety RegulationsApply standards including BS EN 16005, 12453, ISO 13849, 60204, 7671Check and approve ECandI documentationProject and Site SupportConduct site surveys and assess modification requirementsSupport installation and commissioning teamsAssist with NCR resolutionCollaborationLiaise with internal teams, subcontractors, ..... full job details .....
