Senior Digital Delivery Manager

OverviewTaking responsibility for leading the safe and effective delivery of highly complex technology change to a national critical application and associated technology, you will oversee the entire software delivery lifecycle from discovery through to delivery into the live environment. The technology change you manage will be the vehicle through which the blood technology modernisation journey is realised that ultimately will future proof the UK blood supply chain.
As a delivery lead you will hold a strategic and pivotal role. You will take leading responsibility for managing delivery budgets, a team of delivery managers and acting as the key point of contact for managing any delivery risks, issues and decisions. You will work closely to support the senior delivery lead to ensure the product centre is able to plan, schedule and deliver the change required to realise the modernisation journey. You will also have the opportunity to embed a standardised approach to delivery management and establish a culture of continuous improvement within the team. You will have the opportunity to contribute to best practice as part of the delivery community of practice and to learn and develop through collaboration with peers throughout the organisation.
Responsibilities
Delivery and performance of the team to progress work and deliver to a high standard, ensuring everyone is clear on the plan, on track and working together effectively.
Management and delivery of agile projects or releases to time, cost and quality, including third-party contracted technology providers.
Defining project needs and shaping them into a planned, iterative schedule to enable resource allocation.
Removing obstacles for the development team and leading ongoing planning to deliver all tasks and releases.
Working across the product lifecycle to deliver effective change (discovery to live) with active management of risks, issues and dependencies and mitigations.
Ensuring all products and services meet Government Digital Service and NHS Service Standards with successful handover to live.
Coaching and mentoring team members to apply appropriate agile and lean tools and techniques.
About YouExperience and Knowledge
Experience of leading and managing traditional and agile delivery teams across the product lifecycle.
Experience of leading complex technology projects, motivating multi-disciplinary teams, and working with governance and assurance bodies.
Ability to understand environments, prioritise high-value tasks, and manage complex internal and external dependencies.
Ability to remove blockers and develop plans for difficult situations, ensuring capacity planning and delivery confidence.
Experience building delivery teams and managing third-party supplier relationships.
Knowledge of traditional and agile planning and delivery practices, Government Digital and NHS Service Standards.
Qualifications And Training
Educated to Master’s level or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience.
Recognised qualifications in agile and traditional project and delivery management (e.g., Agile Project Management, PRINCE2, Certified Scrum Master) or equivalent experience in agile digital delivery.
Demonstrates commitment to ongoing professional development (CPD).
