Senior Development Manager

Overview

Our client is a privately owned national developer based in Leeds and they are looking to expand the senior team with a development director. This is an addition to the team and you would work alongside the development director on early stage design and planning matters in the current and future phases. You should come from a land buying, town planning or architectural background where you have been involved in pre and post-planning aspects of residential-led schemes. The projects are urban regeneration and community-enhancing, with a core value of placemaking. You should be a values and quality-driven development professional who wants to make a difference to the broader community with projects. There will be a clear career progression plan with the expectation that you will become head of development in the next 12-18 months as the project moves along its lifecycle. You are expected to have a strong project appraisal and planning background and experience working on large urban projects, and you should be comfortable handling multiple projects in an energetic, results-oriented environment.This is a fantastic role with a values-driven company that can provide a clear progression plan.Responsibilities

Running and managing appraisals on new site acquisitionsWorking with the land, technical and planning team to oversee the design and delivery of the current and future phases of the developmentManaging the detailed planning consents for the next phase on-siteManaging internal reports for the development director and group boardLiaising with local authorities on planning conditions of outline consentDealing with design variations with internal technical and external architectsKey requirements

Degree qualified (ideally property related)Experience of running site appraisals and oversight of planning applications7+ years experience working for a leading residential developer or house builderEither a land buyer or assistant development manager used to project managing complex projects from early stage identification through to deliveryAmbitious, driven with an interest in the positive social impact regeneration can haveSeniority level
