Are you an experienced Senior Design Manager from a mechanical background, ready to lead the design on a cutting-edge data centre project? We are recruiting for a key role based in Manchester, offering the opportunity to play a pivotal part in the successful delivery of one of the most complex and high-profile projects in our portfolio.Responsibilities

Be at the forefront of a technically advanced data centre project, responsible for overseeing the mechanical design delivery.Lead multi-disciplinary design teams through early engagement, detailed design, and successful handover.Drive innovation and sustainability throughout the project lifecycle, utilising Laing O\''Rourke\''s market-leading digital and offsite manufacturing capabilities.Qualifications and Experience

A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant discipline) and ideally Chartered status.Proven experience on major, high-complexity projects such as data centres, pharmaceutical/life sciences facilities, healthcare estates, advanced manufacturing, or critical national infrastructure.Strong collaboration and leadership skills, with confidence managing client teams, designers, and delivery partners.Robust understanding of design governance, risk management, and design change processes.Transferable Sectors
