My client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team in Wimborne, Dorset. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented engineer with a strong manufacturing background to take ownership of complex engineering projects, lead new product development activities, and provide technical guidance across the wider business. Working closely with the Engineering Manager and cross-functional teams, you will oversee projects from initial concept through to production, ensuring designs are practical, cost-effective, manufacturable, and delivered to the highest quality standards. Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development of new products and engineering solutions from concept through to production release.Create and review detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and associated technical documentation.Oversee design activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.Support and mentor Design Engineers and Technicians, promoting engineering best practice across the team.Drive Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles to improve efficiency, quality, and production performance.Collaborate closely with manufacturing, ..... full job details .....
