Senior Design Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Design Engineer who for leading engineering business in Ipswich, Suffolk.This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of projects, supporting the development of high-quality, cost-effective mechanical designs within a supportive and experienced team.As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting junior members in the design team. Key Responsibilities: - Produce mechanical designs that meet performance, reliability, and cost requirementsCreate and maintain documentation including drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructionsWork closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are practical and efficientAssist in dealing with technical issues and finding resolutions Ensure compatibility across components, assemblies, and wider systemsCarry out basic FEA/CAE analysis to support decisionsSupport continuous improvement and design optimisation activitiesCollaborating with internal teams on new product developmentEnsure designs meet relevant standards, regulations, and quality requirementsAssist with test planning, validation, and development activitiesSupport testing and contribute to ongoing design improvements About You: - Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related disciplineExperience or understanding of working with metals, plastics, or alloysBasic knowledge of engineering development processes ..... full job details .....
