What will you be doing?
- Lead and support Design Engineers within the team
- Prioritise workload and manage project schedules to meet business targets
- Act as key technical interface with customers; manage requirements and updates
- Oversee design validation to ensure performance and reliability
- Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and reports
- Drive new product development and continuous improvement
- Support prototype builds and testing activities
- Present design solutions and progress to internal stakeholders
- Mentor and develop junior engineers
Where will you be doing it?
- You''ll be based at an established engineering and manufacturing site in Kendal, working within a detailed design team focused on pump products. The role supports global OEM customers across power generation and industrial markets, with close collaboration across cross functional engineering teams in a hands on, technically driven environment.
What will you need?
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar; or equivalent experience
- Strong post qualification experience in design engineering
- Experience with rotating equipment; pumps or turbomachinery preferred
- Understanding of engineering design processes and product lifecycle
- Strong 3D CAD capability; SolidWorks preferred
- Experience producing and reviewing technical drawings and specifications
- Strong knowledge of tolerancing and GD&T
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers
- Good stakeholder management and communication skills
- Organised approach with ability to manage deadlines
