BAE Systems ref: V05895Title: Senior Design Engineer - Mechanical/Piping12 month contract £42.08 per hour Umbrella - Inside IR35 2 days per week onsite - BAE Systems Portsmouth Role Description To undertake a defined range of detail design activities in line with all relevant processes and quality requirements of Mechanical/Piping design package and reports for Installation solutions on Legacy Warships, supplying advice and support to operations and other functions and/or to organise and co-ordinate aspects of detail design activity ensuring defined objectives are achieved whilst continually maintaining quality and service requirements. Core Duties (GTI Description)Typical duties include (but are not limited to): (suggested 5-10 bullets/statements, indicative of the role at this level) Support the development of best practice to increase the capability, performance of tools and processes Support the developing, maintaining and modifying engineering processes and procedures in assigned areas in response to technical developments and operational need To identify training requirements, skills gaps and development requirements of own discipline. Undertake task verification/checking of other Design Engineer s work as directed by Principal Engineering Manager. To lead and conduct ship trials, surveys and engineering support activities.
