Senior Design Product Engineer Location: Bedford, UK - Onsite working required Please note: Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK Our client is a leading global semiconductor manufacturer is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to develop next-generation power semiconductor devices for overvoltage and overcurrent protection applications. This role involves the design and layout of semiconductor chips for both in-house wafer fabrication and external foundries. You will play a key role in new product development while also acting as a technical advisor on wafer processing and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities: Collaborate with Product Management, Sales and Applications teams to define new productsDesign and develop silicon or SiC power semiconductor devicesApply semiconductor physics, DOE, wafer fabrication and electrical testing to prototype developmentUse Silvaco or similar CAD tools for simulation, design and layoutReverse engineer competitor products for benchmarkingSupport New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure on-time production releaseLead complex work including device modelling and technology qualificationProduce full documentation, including datasheets, aligned to IATF16949 (or higher)Develop and perform characterisation, reliability testing and failure analysisApply SPC, DOE, DFM, FMEA and Six Sigma methodologiesSupport existing products and drive continuous improvement across design and processDiagnose and resolve product/process ..... full job details .....
