Enable Design are looking for a talented Senior Design Civil Engineer to join our team in London. This is an exciting time to join the business during a time of transition into new markets including power, battery storage, drainage and water sector led schemes in addition to our current rail offering.The Enable Design business is a small but developing team of Engineers and Technicians and the Senior Engineer will have the opportunity to grow into the role and have significant input into the future of the Enable Design business. Reporting to the Principal Engineer you will have hands-on support to develop towards achieving professional qualifications and developing your design and management skills in other markets.Being part of an SME will enable you to gain full exposure to how a construction business operates interfacing with our pre-construction, procurement, delivery, resourcing, hire and other departments. Training development is bespoke tailoring it to your development plan.There will be the opportunity to manage your own and build your own team as the business grows and develops further. Current projects include railway substation schemes, battery energy storage system (BESS) multidisciplinary design, eHGV charging schemes and various utility and ancillary civil designs.ResponsibilitiesUndertake role of project lead on design projects, with the support from the Principal Engineer, managing and driving the deliverables ensuring design outputs are delivered to programme and qualityLink-in with Infrastructure on Infrastructure-led projects to ensure project expectations are being met with the wider project and Client teamsEnsure Enable and project specific processes and procedures are followed driving this initiative within the design team, with support from the Principal EngineerExperienceMinimum five years experience leading detailed designs in various sectorsRail sector experience is advantageousDemonstrable experience of understanding standards and processesPrevious experience working within a design consultancy environment advantageousTechnical ability to undertake and check technical design calculationsQualificationsPrevious experience undertaking CRE duties to NR/L2/RSE/02009 is advantageousDegree in EngineeringWorking towards Chartered or Incorporated statusTechnical skillsTechnical ability to undertake and check design calculationsProficiency with MS Office suiteExperience working within a BIM environment utilising a common data environmentUnderstanding of how design relates and integrates with constructability advantageousAdditional skillsPTS railway competencyWhat we provideIn addition to a passion for a strong work-life balance and flexibility/core hours working, you can expect:25 days holiday + bank holidaysYour birthday offAdditional leave purchase schemeSalary sacrifice pensionReimbursement towards relevant professional development and membershipsAn inclusive and diverse environment, embracing the variety of cultures, backgrounds and lifestyles of our employeesA focus on safety, health, and wellbeing, prioritising our people through a culture of caring and a network of positive mental health championsOpportunities to give back to our communities through our social value programSalary sacrifice schemes such as Gym memberships, cycle to work, EV car ..... full job details .....
