Senior Design Engineer

A specialist engineering manufacturer supplying safety-critical equipment is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design of regulated products from concept through to production and testing. This is a senior, hands-on role working to published standards and internal design processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical products for safety-critical applications

• Produce detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings

• Support product testing, validation, and technical documentation

• Liaise with customers, suppliers, and external test houses

• Manage external design and test resources where required

• Support products through manufacture and into service

Requirements

• Strong background in mechanical design engineering

• Experience taking products from concept through to production (NPI)

• Proficiency in CAD (CREO/ProE or similar)

• Experience with manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, rubber moulding, machining, and fabrication

• Familiarity with DFM, DFMEA, and design control processes

• Comfortable working in regulated or safety-critical environments

Desirable

• Experience with pneumatics, instrumentation, or test fixtures

• Surface modelling experience

• Experience using CAD data management systems
