Senior Data Engineer - 12-Month Contract Join a major organisation undergoing a large-scale transformation, using data and technology to deliver meaningful impact at national scale. This is a key role within a modern AWS data environment, helping turn complex data into reliable, actionable insight. What You''ll Be Doing: Design, build and enhance scalable data pipelines and ETL solutions across AWS. Develop robust batch and near real-time data processing capabilities. Work with Python, SQL, Airflow, AWS Glue and Redshift to deliver reliable data solutions. Improve platform performance, resilience and cost efficiency. Build effective monitoring, alerting and support processes to keep data services running smoothly. Promote strong engineering standards across code quality, automation, testing and documentation. Partner with architecture, analytics and platform teams to deliver high-value data projects. Help ensure data solutions meet governance, security and compliance standards. Share knowledge, support colleagues and contribute to ongoing improvements across the engineering function. Main Skills Needed: Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services, particularly Redshift, S3, Glue and Lambda. Advanced SQL and Python capability. Proven experience designing, developing and supporting data pipelines and ETL frameworks. Practical knowledge of Airflow and Spark.
