Senior Counsellor (Triage and Pathway Oversight)
About the role Galop runs a free counselling service for LGBT+ survivors of abuse and violence, staffed by employed and freelance counsellors and psychotherapists. The service works to proactively address the barriers to counselling that some LGBT+ people experience and provides a safe, confidential and affirmative service for our clients. This role will work closely with the existing two Senior Counsellors, where you will have a shared responsibility for the therapeutic team, understanding their strengths, interests and competency levels. We are looking for someone to provide case management, identify learning needs in the team and provide training. You will play a key role in the recruitment and induction of new contracted and freelance counsellors. You will be an experienced counsellor who can chair semi-weekly allocation meetings and provide clinical decision making for the service. We want you to act as a point of contact for day-to-day questions and safeguarding questions from counsellors. You will help to further develop the therapeutic service. You will develop an in-house safeguarding process, as well as attend and report into safeguarding meetings with the wider Galop team.
